I am delighted to have my work in Nick Bailey’s headline show garden for BBC Gardeners World Live at the NEC in June.
‘The Plant Based Garden’ designed by Nick Bailey is focused on sustainability and uses no steel, glass, concrete or plastic, focussing rather on minimally processed natural materials. The garden has a homestead feel with a cluster of characterful buildings, meadow-like planting, an elegant dining space and a series of beds for cut flowers, veg, herbs and composting.
A selection of my small sculptural works, made of plant fibres all grown and gathered on my allotment, will be on show in the open barn within the garden. Plant fibres used in the work include nettle, dandelion, bindweed, apple wood, flax and daffodil leaf, along with re-purposed old gardening tools.
The show is on 12-15 June at the NEC, Birmingham.
